Cornell University Library Conservation held a great session on East Asian Binding for Cornell University Library staff at Albert R. Mann-Library. Participants learned about volumes in CUL's collections and made their own beautiful books with decorative paper covers, Xuan paper text blocks, sewn with paper twists and bound with thread. Thank you to Library Forum for organizing this session and the upcoming April session.

Today is American Institute for Conservation's day. Follow the hashtag on social media to see what questions are being asked and answered around the world. At Cornell University Library Conservation we recently hosted a workshop on East Asian bindings, treated and mounted books, documents, and photographs for several exhibits, contributed to special projects, and continue to care for CUL's collections. Contact us at [email protected] with your questions about how to care for your family collections--we're happy to help!
