Four months later, I finally got the chance to go back through this summer’s osprey footage 🦅
+ a heron just for kicks

For the past two years I’ve had a camera trap on the fox den in my Upstate, NY backyard.
This past week we captured a video of the juvenile fox interacting with a tennis ball— presumably found in the surrounding forest, which is adjacent to a popular recreation area.
Friendly reminder that pollution impacts not only ecology, but also animal behavior.
Please and clean up after yourselves. 🦊 🎾

Our Intern Elsa busy prepping for our Floating Classroom cruise this morning. Do you know the temperature of the lake at the thermocline today? We teach kids about the various layers of the lake and how they affect, and are affected by, changes in the climate. Future scientists in the making!
