Our JunkGenies exhibits are presently being showcased halfway around the world at Beijing Olympic Park by our very own Eva Luna, educator at Cornell High Energy Synchrotron Source. Thanks to our collaboration with Ithaca Physics Bus, an invitation from The University of Arizona Prof. Bruce Bayly, the , and especially our host and trip sponsor, the US China Scitech Education Promotion Association. Last but not least, thanks to all the Cornell East Asia Program folks who translated the exhibit descriptions!

Right back at you, physicsbus, for spreading synchro science around the community with our exhibition!
Owego Elementary School teacher Julie McEvoy wrote a grant to help bring the Physics Bus to OES this week.
(And yes. The Physics Bus is covered with aluminum foil.)

More about the Physics Bus:
The Physics Bus brings science to the public on a traveling bus. It brings 20-plus exhibits that students can do in a hands-on setting. Students rotate through the exhibits and trouble-shoot, experiment, and have conversations to reveal higher-order thinking.
The goal of the Physics Bus is to engage students in science/physics exhibits and demonstrations. Utilizing common materials for the exhibits, it shows kids they don’t need to own anything fancy to learn about science. Students will leave understanding their world a little better.
The Physics Bus will meet the need of connecting the common core standards and the Next Generation Science standards. Also, with the rise in STEM (Science Technology Engineering Math) education awareness, the bus will give the opportunity to increase the level of STEM understanding and interest. These hands on experiments will help develop a love for learning in students.

A huge thanks to NSF for supporting the JunkGenies project, currently with a cohort from Lehman Alternative Community School, that keeps us churning out new physics exhibits for thousands to enjoy!
Rats!! Winter weather has foiled our Physic Bus plans in Chicago!
Xraise hopes to visit the Windy City sometime soon....when it is not as windy. Or snowy. Or icy.....
