Save the date for our Open House next month! Join us at the History Center, visit the "History of Transportation" exhibit, enjoy some refreshments on us and learn about the history of Ithaca Carshare and what's next for us! After the Open House stay for the Gunpoets performing for free on the Ithaca Commons as part of the Downtown Ithaca summer concert series.

We're happy to announce we've placed our van, Connie, at the Varna Community Center, 943 Dryden Road.

This is a partnership with the Varna Community Association, and our first vehicle in a rural location outside of the City of Ithaca.

Ithaca Carshare members can reserve Connie, a Dodge Grand Caravan with stow-n-go seats, for short trips, errands, or even longer trips to head out of town.

Ithaca Carshare Celebrates One-Year Back On The Road, Plans Expansion ITHACA, N.Y. — One year after relaunching operations, Ithaca Carshare has recorded over 11,000 bookings and helped community members travel more than 165,000 miles.

Ithaca Carshare director Liz Field is in Montreal at the Carsharing Association’s first conference since pre-pandemic times. This has been a wonderful day for Carsharing operatives and municipalities and other partners to come together and learn about new technologies and innovations in the Carsharing space.

Currently discussing how AI & self-driving cars may impact the future of carsharing.

Our parent org, The Center for Community Transportation, is hiring an Executive Director! In addition to Ithaca Carshare, the CCT includes Bike Walk Tompkins and Ithaca Bikeshare.

This is a really great opportunity for someone with passion for promoting active and more sustainable transportation options. We're looking for someone with strong leadership skills and a background in nonprofit management.

We have a hybrid work environment, with regular staff duties in and around Ithaca, New York. This is an exempt, full-time position with flexible hours, and occasional evening and weekend work required.

Krystal Cole from Spectrum News was the first reporter to reach out to us in February of last year to cover what turned out to be a long fight to save Ithaca Carshare. She did the first story on our insurance woes, another story in May when we had to pause operations, and we were happy to talk with her again a couple of weeks ago as we geared up to reopen.

Ithaca Carshare reopens to members after long pause It took a state law to allow the nonprofit to reopen.

We parked 3 more cars in their home locations yesterday, including Connie, one of two minivans, who can be found on Dunmore Place at the corner of East State / MLK Jr. Street.

We now have 11 cars in service and ready for members to book. We're working on getting the rest ready for service.
