Tourism is the primary economic driver for the country of Turks and Caicos, accounting for over 90% of the countries GDP. Being able to smile with confidence often brings better job opportunities in this labor market.
The best part of this volunteer dentistry is seeing the joy and confidence someone receives by having a beautiful smile restored and knowing the difference it will make in their life!

Two weeks ago, I had the chance to participate with my wife, Diane, and one of our hygienists, Elena Don in our biannual humanitarian dental service project called 1000 Smiles. Some of our family members were able to participate with us and we met many new friends as fellow volunteers. This year we returned to the beautiful country of Turks and Caicos. We had the opportunity to improve smiles, relieve pain, and educate children and communities in oral hygiene. We feel so blessed that we were able to provide dental work and also share stories and make connections with the beautiful people of Turks and Caicos.

Our love and prayers go out to the people of Jamaica and around the Caribbean impacted by hurricane Melissa. For over 20 years, we’ve worked with on their 1000 Smiles projects to serve the dental needs of the Caribbean communities and have come to love the people.
