More Kegels ≠ Better Pelvic Floor Health 🚫

If you’re experiencing prolapse symptoms after birth, doing more kegels may not always be the solution.

Many women are told to strengthen, strengthen, strengthen—but sometimes the pelvic floor isn’t weak. It’s too tight. When pelvic floor muscles are already overactive, kegels and intense core exercises can actually increase pressure and make symptoms worse.

✨ The right treatment starts with the right assessment.

A personalized pelvic floor evaluation can identify whether your muscles need strengthening, relaxation, coordination training, or a combination of all three.

💗 Signs you may benefit from a pelvic floor assessment:
• Pelvic heaviness or pressure
• A bulge sensation
• Urinary leakage or urgency
• Pain with intimacy
• Persistent core weakness after birth

Remember: healing isn’t one-size-fits-all. Your body deserves an approach tailored to your needs.

Your scar tells a story… but it may also be holding tension your body still feels. ✨

Scar tissue forms quickly to protect and heal but unlike healthy tissue, it can become dense, tight, and restrictive beneath the surface. That “healed” scar may still be affecting your movement, posture, breathing, digestion, pelvic floor, or pain patterns years later.

Whether it’s from a C-section, mastectomy, hysterectomy, or another surgery, scar tension can show up in ways many people never connect back to the scar itself.

Healing isn’t just about how it looks on the outside- it’s about restoring mobility, softness, and connection within the body too. 🤍

That “mommy pooch” that won’t go away no matter how many crunches you do? It might not be fat.

It might be Diastasis Recti and crunches could actually be making it worse. 😔

Swipe through to understand what’s really going on in your body after pregnancy. 👉

What is Diastasis Recti?
During pregnancy, your abdominal muscles separate to make room for your growing baby. For many women, that gap doesn’t fully close on its own after birth and that’s Diastasis Recti.

Here’s what it can cause:
✨ A persistent belly pooch
✨ Lower back pain
✨ Pelvic pressure or heaviness
✨ Core weakness that just won’t improve

And here’s the part nobody tells you- traditional core exercises like crunches, sit-ups and planks can make the gap wider, not smaller.

The good news? With the right pelvic floor physical therapy, Diastasis Recti is absolutely healable. 🤍

At Revive PT, we assess your core, identify the gap, and build a personalised plan to help you heal from the inside out no guesswork, no one-size-fits-all.

💾 Save this post if you’re postpartum and struggling with core weakness or back pain you’ll want to come back to this.

Ever feel like your pain just won’t go away, no matter what you try? 🤍
There’s a reason for that. And it has everything to do with your fascia, the connective tissue that wraps around every muscle, organ, and bone in your body.

When fascia tightens, it creates invisible restrictions that no X-ray can detect. But your body feels every bit of it.
That’s where John Barnes Myofascial Release (MFR) comes in. ✨
Swipe through to understand what MFR actually is and why so many of our patients say it’s the first thing that finally worked.
