Took a long time to finish this painting. Yes life comes with its own plans but I also wanted to slowdown with this portrait. Enjoyed painting it part by part. I love the challenge this presented. The saree folds, the hands, the wind blowing the hair. Although I love the entire finished work, my favorite is the hands.
Inspired by a photo I found on the internet of Female Superstar of Indian cinema in the 70’s Ms.Vaijayanthimala.

Very happy and grateful to have my Kalamkari Tree of Life showcased at NewCastle Fall Art Fair held by Newcastle Arts Council at the Newcastle Library.
The artist reception was a joyful experience where I got to meet artists from diverse cultural backgrounds and age. Do visit the Newcastle Library to checkout some stunning art by many artists.
