For the past 22 years, OneLegacy's Donate Life Rose Parade® float has inspired people worldwide to save and heal lives with the powerful message of organ, eye, and tissue donation.

The Let Your Life Soar float features a vibrant scene inspired by the beloved Japanese celebration of Children’s Day. Colorful Koi No Bori (Flying Fish Flags) or windsocks shaped like fish, fly overhead. Streamers bear the family crest, followed by koinobori in a sequence representing father, mother, and children in order of birth. The scales of the koi fish highlight memorial floragraph portraits, in recognition of the wider family of organ donors and the donation community, bringing the gift of life to grateful recipients. The fish windsocks soar over a garden of flowering trees, featuring stone lanterns and a beautiful bridge. Organ, eye and tissue recipients will ride on the float, sharing the gratitude they feel for their donors’ gift of life. Living donors will walk alongside the float, showing the power of living donation.

GARDEN UNDER THE SEA — APRIL 25-28

In celebration of the 34th annual Southern California Spring Garden Show at South Coast Plaza, we honor the captivating beauty of the underwater world. The ocean’s beauty comes alive in a coral reef and lush underwater garden created from an array of floral materials.

The undersea display at South Coast Plaza is a testament to the creativity and artistry of floral design, offering visitors a unique and enchanting experience that celebrates the beauty and diversity of marine life. The combination of dried and fresh florals works together to create a visually stunning display.

The sea anemones moving up the side have centers of magenta carnation and purple carnation with a natural blue chrysanthemum.

The 3 arms of sea coral on the side are a combination of cordon thistle puffs with 3 distinct color roses. Free Spirit, toffee, and quicksand roses.

The ocean floor floral has a variety of floral including: King white/pink protea, green dianthus, yellow-orange pin cushion protea, green lemonade rose, hot pink boronia, song of India, umbrella fern, and sea star fern.

The two tall clumps of structured seaweed contain fresh flowers of Hala leaves, purple Liatris, Green Cymbidium, leucadendron, and bear grass.

The white jellyfish have fresh ornamental kale moving down the arm.

Check out our latest creation for South Coast Plaza: a 14’ x 30’ Lunar New Year Wood Dragon. The Wood dragon cycles every 60 years. The Dragon’s chest was decorated with white cut strawflower. The flame, spines and tail are decorated with gold cut strawflower. The teeth, talons, and pearl were decorated in translucent lunaria. The painted scales were base coated with sesame seed.

Deadline for Torrance’s Rose Parade float design contest is Wednesday, Jan. 31 Torrance high schoolers who want to design the city’s next Rose Parade float must enter their submissions by the end of the month.
