What a great week at the Texas Association of Municipal Information Officers (TAMIO) 2026 Annual Conference!

Our Public Sector Practice enjoyed connecting with Texas government communicators from across the state and sponsoring the TAMI Awards Banquet.

We were also proud to see our own Tom Bryson, vice president and Public Sector Practice Leader, lead the session, “The Horizon Watch: Anticipating and Pivoting Through Local Government Crises,” sharing insights on effective crisis communication.

Congratulations are in order for our vice president and Public Sector Practice leader, Tom Bryson, on four years with Cooksey!

Tom’s career spans nearly four decades in journalism and public sector communications, including leadership roles at TAMIO and 3CMA and years of helping local governments communicate clearly and effectively. At Cooksey, he continues to bring strong leadership and a true passion for government communications to everything he does.

We’re lucky to have him on the team. Happy workiversary, Tom!

Cooksey would like to congratulate account executive Bethany Kula Moisan on a happy third workiversary!

Since joining, Bethany has been a special addition to the team, providing excellent public relations services to our clients and for her constant positivity and care. Bethany has also been a model representative for Cooksey outside our office, serving as an impactful co-chair of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Dallas Chapter’s UnSummit 2026.

In celebration of over the weekend, we’re highlighting a variety of deliverables our creative department, led by Creative Manager Krista Nussey, has produced recently in close collaboration with some of our amazing clients, including the Bonham Economic Development Corporation (BEDCO), Irving Economic Development Partnership, Town of Sunnyvale and The Real Estate Council.

Congratulations to our Chairman and CEO, Colby Walton, for being named to Fort Worth Inc.'s 500 most influential people in Fort Worth for the fifth consecutive year!

An all-encompassing list, The 500 highlights top executives who wield significant influence in Tarrant County across a wide range of categories, including industry, philanthropy, nonprofits, government and public policy, economic development, professional services, education, civic affairs, arts, religion, sports and media, or within their own spheres.

We couldn't be prouder of Colby's recognition, which is indicative of his leadership that has led Cooksey to where it is today.

Cooksey would also like to congratulate our long-time clients, Hillwood Chairman Ross Perot, Jr., and President Mike Berry, on being honored as Persons of the Year by Fort Worth Inc.

Today, we pause to remember the men and women who gave everything for this country. Their courage and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

The PRSA Dallas UnSummit 2026 was an absolute success, and Cooksey was honored to not only attend but make an impact on the event!

A special congratulations to account executive Bethany Kula Moisan, who served as co-chair of the UnSummit planning committee, alongside colleagues Regan Welch and Haaris Ahmed, who also helped bring the event to life. Together, they helped coordinate experienced speakers from diverse backgrounds to lead conversations on critical industry topics such as social media, AI, media relations, internal communications, branding and crisis communications.

It was a pleasure to contribute to the PRSA Dallas Chapter’s signature annual event, connect with fellow PRSA members and gain valuable insights into the future of AI, digital communications and evolving industry trends.

Last week was a full and exciting week for our real estate and development team!

We kicked things off with the annual Frisco Chamber of Commerce Development Summit for a look ahead at the city’s developments and re-developments, then kept the momentum going as Mary Kate Jeffries, Kelly Morris and Regan Welch attended Hillwood’s annual AllianceTexas Women in Business brunch at Circle T Ranch, where they connected with female leaders and enjoyed a fantastic keynote presentation from co-Host of Morning on Merit Street, Dominique Sachse.

Later that evening, Jason Meyer and Mary Kate joined the Hillwood team for the Dallas Business Journal Best Real Estate Deals Awards.

Congratulations, Hillwood Properties and Hillwood Urban for taking home top honors for Best Headquarters for SGS Studios, Best Industrial Deal for Wistron and Best Office Deal for Scotiabank.

The Cooksey team has had an eventful April, full of fun office competition!

We kicked things off strong as Owen and Bethany swept both the men and women's March Madness brackets and the Easter egg hunt. The prizes didn’t disappoint either, Easter chocolate and custom 3D-printed NCAA trophies made victory even sweeter. To top it off, the whole team got in on the action with another round of our Mind the Gap trivia.

We’re looking forward to more competition and fun in May!
