🚨 DFW Curling Club Work Day Volunteers Needed! 🚨
Saturday and Sunday 9am-6pm! Golf Jeff will be providing a brisket lunch on Saturday!

We're making great progress on our new dedicated curling facility, but we still have a lot to accomplish before our event. Whether you're handy with tools, organized, or just willing to lend a hand, we'd love your help!

🔨 Current Projects:
• Install insulation in bathrooms and locker rooms
• Install insulation in the mezzanine (high priority to help close up the cold room)
• Move the garage door from the bathroom area to the pro shop
• Wash and clean barstools covered in slurry dust from concrete coring
• Organize garage inventory (brooms, shoes, grippers, equipment, etc.)
• Build locker room benches (if we have enough volunteers!)
• Paint wherever we're ready to paint
• Organize the pro shop and office so we can tape and mud walls
• Assist with framing projects and other construction tasks as needed

No experience? No problem! There are jobs for every skill level, and every hour of help moves us closer to opening Texas' first dedicated curling facility.

💪 Bring work gloves, a good attitude, and clothes you don't mind getting dirty.

Another two weeks and soo much progress!!

Our biggest focus was getting the cold room ready to make ice! We had our friends from finally join us and help us lay felt, pipe, grid and pressurize our system so that when we get the AC ready and turned on we can start flooding and making ice!

A LOT of of our time was spent cutting and installing batt insulation in the walls, securing drywall, making sure the working area was clean of trash and debris, cutting rigid insulation for underneath the ice as well as ice side walls and walkways!

Chiller is set and ready to be piped! All the ice grid piping and tubing have been laid and we are ready to get hooked up!

Taping and bedding of the drywall is ongoing!

We even got some color at the entry wall!!!

Huge shout out to all of the volunteers/ board members and committee members who have been showing up and showing out to get us where we are today! Without you this definitely wouldn’t be possible. WE EVEN HAD MEMBERS FROM AUSTIN CC COME AND HELP!!!! the curling community is an amazing community to be a part of and we are so glad we are united through sport!

Still a ton to do but the vision is coming to life!

Me again! Did we mention that volunteering at the New club is a workout? We desperately need you this week! The grid is IN, the pipes are DOWN! And the clock is TICKING! And we are BEGGING… (No children were hurt in the making of that video. Nick, however...)
