This is a fascinating article about how programming has changed and continues to evolve over time. When I started programming, I used pencil and paper. Now, we tell a computer to program for us. The code written by AI isn't perfect and we still have to check its work, but I haven't told Claude Code that its output is "unacceptable and embarrassing.” Apparently, scolding AI works and makes it try harder.

I'm back! After being out for an extended medical leave, I'm slowly returning to my regular office schedule. Attending the “All Hands Meeting” for the Gulf of Mexico Alliance. We’ll be demonstrating two new applications - “GulfSeeLife” (a cloud-curated citizen science app for recording observations of fish, birds, marine mammals, and plants along the Gulf of Mexico), and the “Coastal Homeowner Resilience Application” (a disaster preparedness application for coastal residents).The campus has grown a lot since my school days.
