It is a volunteer service that is endorsed and empowered by the Federal Government in the Federal Communications Commission Rules and Regulations Part 97.407. All Irving RACES/ARES members are registered members of the City of Irving Office of Emergency Management and report to the Irving RACES Radio Officer,

320 pm Update: A few showers & storms are starting to develop near the cold front as it moves across Southern OK & into North TX. Some of these storms could be strong or severe with a hail & gusty wind threat. The chance for storms will continue along the front as it moves across North Texas this afternoon/evening and into Central TX this evening and tonight.
