Due to a water outage in the building, the Many Helping Hands Day Center will be CLOSED today. We are notifying our volunteers and friends accordingly.

LifeChange Housing Associates was proud to attend, speak, and represent the Irving homeless community at the Irving Behavioral Health Symposium. This meaningful gathering brought together dedicated leaders and organizations committed to strengthening behavioral health access and outcomes across our city.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the Irving Hispanic Community Forum for convening this important conversation, and to our valued community partners who continue to show up for Irving families every day, including Irving ISD, North Texas Behavioral Health Authority, Metrocare Services, Irving Family Advocacy Center, and the City of Irving Police & Fire Public Safety teams.

Empowering Behavioral Health was more than a theme—it was a call to action.

Today marks the beginning of a community‑driven journey to grow an integrated behavioral health program in Irving. Together, we are building from this symposium toward sustained partnerships that make behavioral wellness accessible for every family, every neighborhood, and every community we serve.

We are grateful to stand alongside so many committed partners as we move this work forward—because lasting change happens when communities come together. 💙

When the shelter closes after a long, grueling cold weather event, the true heroes emerge, as the work doesn't stop - it evolves. Data demands attention, cleaning necessitates diligence, and laundry requires dedication. Specifically, laundry needs to be laundered. Following a substantial event, the monumental task of washing blankets and towels would daunt anyone, but not those with servant hearts. Let's extend a heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to Sandy, Carol, Sharon, Sudie, Michele, and Mark for selflessly meeting and toiling for hours to wash 26 loads of laundry, sanitizing over 260 blankets!

We are humbled and honored to partner with Matt and Ashley Moffat with Soap Daddy Laundry in Lewisville that donates the use of their facilities and machines each time we close our doors. We are grateful for all you do to support us and our frinds!

We want to extend our deepest thanks to Many Helping Hands for their incredible partnership with the Inclement Weather Shelter. This work truly would not be possible without you.

Week after week, you faithfully open your day center three days a week and also host a dinner every Thursday night—and over the last two weeks, you went above and beyond in big ways while the shelter was open.

When the shelter reached maximum capacity, you helped us navigate a critical moment by supporting the transition of some guests to Bear Creek Church for two nights until we were able to open our new Overflow location. Even after the overflow opened with 23 guests, you continued to serve—welcoming them into the day center for showers, laundry, and lunch, ensuring dignity, care, and stability during an incredibly challenging time. We can also always count on your team to assist with transportation to and from the shelter.

Many Helping Hands, you are more than a partner—you are family and community. We cannot do this work alone, and the compassion and commitment you bring truly change lives.

Thank you for standing with us, stepping up when it mattered most, and loving us and our neighbors so well.

We were invited to join Verizon employees at their corporate office here in Irving Texas for a team building event today and again this coming Thursday. They are building emergency shelter tents for our homeless neighbors. We will be gifted between 10-14 of these shelter tents during these events which we will be gifting to some of our most vulnerable homeless neighbors. This was undoubtedly a great way to both team build and give back to the community.

Shelter details:
Protective and insulated sleep shelters for those sleeping outside (similar to https://sleeppod.org.uk/) and packing a first aid and toiletries kit, blanket, and flashlight to go along with each. They turn out very sturdy but lightweight. Each shelter folds up into a provided bag and comes with a link to community resources mapped by volunteers: https://communitycompassmap.com/
