Officially in Rotary clothing! Irvine satellite club member Irvine Councilmember Melinda Liu receives her Irvine Rotary shirt. Melinda has been such a great Rotary member, connecting the club with numerous projects and city connections.

Irvine Rotary ends the year by adding 2 more Rotarians! Welcome to Tom Smagala. Tom has a BS in Chemistry and led projects designing product packaging. He also taught Project Management at UCI and Lean Six Sigma at Cal State Fullerton. Welcome also to Joanna Itoh. Joanna was raised in India. She worked in Sydney Australia and then moved to Japan. Joanna has a master's degree in English as a Second Language. She was in international student advisor both at USC and UCI Irvine before retiring. She has done a lot of work supporting women through the Bethania Foundation in India.

It's Rotarian of the Month president-elect Jane Tittle! Thanks for Jane for stepping up for all kinds of club support organizing the demotion party and numerous other behind the scenes work.

Soka Rotaract and UCI Rotaractors continued the demotion after party on the Newport pier with a beautiful sunset.

Presidents rule! Irvine Rotary, Soka Rotaract and UCI Rotaract had a joint demotion party. We thanked presidents Aaron Saliba (Irvine Rotary), Puja Khatri (Soka Rotaract), and Anthony Bonfa (UCI Rotaract) for a great year. Welcome to new presidents Jane Tittle, Aaisha and Alexa Allaham.

Congratulations to Jutta Whitaker-Gamboa, Irvine Rotary's Rotarian of the Year. Past president Jutta and her husband Jesus organized Rotary District 5320's first friendship exchange in many years with Rotarians from Kenya. Coordinating many Rotary clubs took a lot of work, but Jutta was up for the task.
