We've taken a hiatus from posting on our account because life is very different right now. We are not wandering, we are staying home. But we have started shifting from "survival mode" into this "new normal", and we're both itching to share our new adventures, being what they are right now. It's not big camping trips or hikes or getting into a new outdoor activity. Instead it's making bread (yes we jumped on that bandwagon), doing puzzles, bird watching, knitting and drinking craft beer. Welcome to our new normal with loaves of bread. We will still share some of our favorite memories of past adventures, like selfies from a pre-covid Grand Canyon trip, because those photos make us (and hopefully you) grin ear-to-ear.

Our first day was mostly filled with 8 hours of driving, but we got a really early start leaving so we had a few hours to check out the canyon after snagging a campsite. First stop was Yaki point and Pipe Creek Vista. Andrea was determined to see the elusive California Condors that live around the canyon. No sighting this afternoon, but our first glimpses of the canyon were breathtaking!

You know that feeling when you start a new outdoor activity and you anxiously wait for every weekend to go play....? Paddle boarding is my new obsession. I’ve wanted to wake up early and get out on the water every weekend since I got my paddle board for my birthday.

Peter’s Canyon is not only a great place to hike and bike, or enjoy a view of a lake, but also a great place to spot a wide variety of birds! Some of our favorite from that park so far are the California Quail, the Black-headed Grosbeak, and the random Red-crowned Parrots that fly overhead!

One of the best moments from our recent camping trip was waking up at sunrise, watching the moon set, and the light change. Early mornings can hold a ton of little surprises!
