Houser LLP Receives Food Bank Rainmaker Award

The Firm received a “Rainmaker Award” for this year’s charitable efforts on behalf of the Second Harvest Food Bank, Food from the Bar Campaign. Big Win in Massachusetts!

Houser Wins Jury Trial in Massachusetts In 37 years, Eric Houser has never lost a court or jury trial. Last week in Barnstable County Superior Court (Cape Cod) Massachusetts that streak continued.

Partners Kathleen Massimo and Jordan Schur are set to attend the New York MBA 10th Annual Convention this week, which will bring together members, speakers, and legislators to discuss the issues impacting the New York industry.

Trial Victory for Client:

Attorneys Bob Norman and Darlene Morris of Houser LLP obtained a trial victory in the Santa Barbara California Superior Court this week. Houser’s financial institution client was sued by a Plaintiff claiming millions of dollars in damages. Plaintiff’s last settlement demand was $800k. At trial, the Court granted a complete defense verdict on all of Plaintiff’s claims. The Court noted that Mr. Norman’s cross-examination of Plaintiff was “devastating to her case.” This was Ms. Morris’ third trial in the last six months.

Houser LLP is eager to participate in Second Harvest Food Bank’s Food From The Bar campaign for the eighth year in a row. The campaign runs June 1 – June 30 and is a friendly competition amongst OC’s legal community to “do the most good!” FFTB supports Second Harvest’s mission to provide access to nutritious food in Orange County. Houser Victory For Client Following Jury Trial:

Attorneys Eric Houser and Darlene Morris of Houser LLP prevailed for the firm’s client following a jury trial in Orange County California Superior Court. Houser’s client, a successful tech startup company, was sued by an individual claiming to have an ownership stake in the company entitled to $7.2 million in damages. Following the jury trial, the Court issued judgment on all claims in favor of Houser’s client, resulting in a complete defense win.

Partner Katie Massimo will speak on the Litigation Forum Panel at the Annual MBA Legal Issues & Regulatory Compliance Conference in San Diego on May 5. Katie will discuss key state cases and litigation developments across the country relating to the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).
