⨠Did someone say... PAGEANT? đ
This weekend I'm headed to Suffern, New York, and I couldn't be more excited to cheer on the incredible women competing for the titles of Miss New York and Miss New York's Teen!
One of my favorite parts of pageantry isn't just the crownsâit's watching young women step outside their comfort zones, share their stories, showcase their talents, and grow in confidence. Every contestant has already accomplished something worth celebrating simply by taking the stage.
I can't wait to reconnect with friends, make some new ones, and spend the weekend supporting the next generation of leaders and changemakers.
Good luck to each and every contestant! Shine bright, enjoy every moment, and rememberâyou've already made your communities proud. đâ¨
Thereâs a moment in Season 13, Episode 5: "Advanced Thanatology" where Dean Wi******er looks at Sam and says, âI just need a damn win.â
And honestly? Felt that in my soul.
Not because life is terrible. Not because thereâs no hope. But because sometimes the weight of everything just piles up all at once. The responsibilities. The grief. The pressure. The exhaustion. The trying to hold it all together while secretly wondering if maybe everyone else got an easier script than you did.
There are seasons where it feels like you keep showing up, keep fighting, keep pouring into everyone else⌠and still canât seem to catch a break yourself.
I think a lot of us are walking around more exhausted than we admit. Smiling in public while privately thinking, âCan I please just have one good thing go right?â
And if youâre in that space right now, I see you.
I donât really have a perfect inspirational ending here. Just this reminder: being tired doesnât make you weak. Feeling discouraged doesnât make you ungrateful. And hoping for a win doesnât make you selfish.
It makes you human.
So hereâs to the people quietly carrying a lot right now. I hope your âdamn winâ is coming sooner than you think. đ¤

Happy Father's Day to my favorite guy.
John has spent years being an incredible dad to his three amazing kids, and now he somehow also manages to be a devoted cat dad to our three fur babies.
One of the things I admire most about him is that no matter how busy life gets, he always shows up for the people he loves. He's the first to lend a hand, crack a joke, offer advice, or remind you that everything will work out just fine.
I am so grateful for the life we've built together and for the love and support you give so freely to your family, friends, and yes, even the cats who clearly run this house.
Today we celebrate all the dads, stepdads, grandfathers, father figures, and mentors who make a difference every day. But I'm especially grateful for mine.
Happy Father's Day, John. We love youâand the cats do too, even if they have a funny way of showing it. â¤ď¸

One of the traditions I always looked forward to during my time as President of the Junior League of Syracuse (2023â2025) was our annual Past Presidents' Luncheon.
This gathering is so much more than a luncheon. It's an opportunity to celebrate the incredible women whose leadership, vision, and dedication have shaped the League across generations. Their commitment to service has left a lasting impactânot only on the organization but throughout our community.
As a former President, I now have the privilege of experiencing this tradition from a new perspective. It was wonderful to reconnect with past leaders, celebrate another successful League year, and welcome our incoming President as she begins her own leadership journey.
Leadership may change from year to year, but the mission of empowering women and building better communities continues because of the remarkable women who step forward to serve.
I'm grateful to have been part of that legacy and look forward to cheering on the League for years to come. đ
Yesterday was our dating anniversary. â¤ď¸
It wasn't fancy or full of big plans... and somehow, it ended up being just about perfect.
The day started with cleaning up, heading to work, and getting everything ready for today's middle school trip. Then I came home... and the power went out.
So instead of screens, TV, or our usual routine, we found ourselves sitting on the front porch, talking, laughing, and simply enjoying each other's company in the quiet.
Sometimes the best memories aren't the ones you planâthey're the ones that remind you to slow down and appreciate the person sitting beside you.
Here's to another year of choosing each other, in the big moments and the unexpected ones. â¤ď¸
Turns out, losing power was exactly what we neededâa reminder that the best connections don't need electricity. Just time together. đĽ°

Trauma changes the way a childâs brain develops, affecting memory, learning, and emotions. With love and support, the brain can heal. đ§ đ

Today we celebrate Juneteenthâa day that reminds us that freedom is not just something we celebrate, but something we are called to protect, honor, and extend to one another.
As we remember the day when the last enslaved people in the United States learned they were free, may we also reflect on the work that still remains: listening well, loving boldly, standing for justice, and recognizing the dignity of every person.
My faith reminds me that every person is created in the image and likeness of God, worthy of love, respect, and the opportunity to flourish.
Today, I choose to learn, to remember, and to celebrate the resilience, strength, and contributions of the Black communityânot just today, but every day.
May we continue building a world where freedom, hope, and belonging are realities for everyone. â¤ď¸đ¤đ

Today marks the anniversary of our first dateâa date that neither of us could have known would change the course of our lives.
What started as dinner and conversation turned into a love story that has carried us through countless memories, adventures, challenges, laughs, and milestones. Since that first date, we've built a beautiful life together, blended a family, spoiled more than a few cats, and become one another's biggest supporters.
John, thank you for being my partner in every sense of the word. Thank you for believing in me, cheering me on, making me laugh when I take life too seriously, and reminding me that the best moments are often the simplest ones spent together.
Looking back, I'm so grateful I said yes to that first date. Looking ahead, I'm excited for all the chapters we still have left to write.
Here's to the day it all began, and to the many adventures still to come. â¤ď¸

Strength isn't just what happens under bright lights, on a stage, or inside a wrestling ring.
Real strength is showing up for others.
My friend Courtney, former Miss New Jersey for America Strong and a fellow Women's Wrestling Talk contributor, is collecting period products through July 3 to benefit the Community FoodBank of New Jersey.
Period poverty affects millions of women and girls, and these essential items are often among the most requestedâbut least donatedâproducts at food banks.
If you're able, please consider purchasing an item from her Amazon Wish List. Even a small donation can make a meaningful difference for someone in need.
Let's remind women and girls that they are seen, supported, and never alone.
