PPPC order arrived! Now we can get to doing some cool stuff! PPPC says "When you want the best". For us we use them because we NEED the best!
These are billet steel guides we had made for Colby's Hemi. They were designed by Jake and manufactured by PPPC. We're at the point we have to start pulling out all the stops with this thing.
These guides are sweet. They accept replaceable 8mm bronze liners and can definitely handle the punishment we'll be putting them through.

Also got upgraded wrist pins for our 496 BBC going in the boat. That thing will be a beast for a pump gas NA marine engine.

New PPPC Moldstar seats for Colby's Thitek cylinder heads. The custom billet steel exhaust guides are right behind these, hopefully they show up Monday so we can do some cool cylinder head modifications! New goal is in the 3000+ territory on a little SB Mopar Hemi!

All we can say is WOW! The Lord blessed us big time with this one. I'm absolutely blown away with the power this guy makes in full on street car trim!
350 block with 3.875 stroke & 4.030 bore. 396 cubic inch with a Molnar crank & stroker rods, 10.5:1 Mahle Power-Pak pistons with 1mm/1mm/2mm rings, a dual plane RPM Air Gap intake with a 750 carb, and a Milodon oil system. The Milodon pan is a necessary part of this recipe. It has a right side box just below the pan rail that catches the oil slinging off the crank and it comes with a windage tray for excellent oil control. We've seen these pans pickup 15+ hp compared to normal budget street pans.
I really wanted to run a Victor Jr or better yet a Strip Dominator intake. It would have made another 20-25 easily, but would have had a little softer torque curve down low and through the mid range. This is going into a true street car. 1972 Nova with a 4 speed manual and I believe he said it has 3.54 gears and 275 street tread tires. It could afford to give up a bit of tq down low to gain some more hp, but WOW did it do well with the Air Gap!
What a killer street combo. The heads and intake were ported by Frankshaft at Advanced Performance. All other machine work was done here at SRE. The little 195 AFR's wouldn't make this type of power without a lot of help.
Dyno was done at Competition Engines by Randy on his Super-Flow, which doesn't give up numbers easily. Randy did a great job
We tried Randy's 850 QFT dyno carb at the end to look at air cfm, which is the sheet posted, but it made the same power with Luke's 750 ProForm carb and moved about the same amount of air, which tells us it's not the carb holding it back up top.
It's a very efficient combo with flat tops and the AFR chambers. It made best power at 37⁰ total timing, and with 10⁰ of mechanical advance it idles all day long at 800-850 RPM. Although the power gain was single digits over 35⁰ total timing. Best numbers were with a 1" open carb spacer which is normal for this intake manifold.

Got our new align hone setup! Built a nice aluminum jig to hold the blocks in the hone cabinet upside down for align honing the mains and plumbed an oil spray bar to the top to get oil to the align hone mandrels.
It's pretty slick! I used aluminum so it's much easier on my back taking the jig out. The Sunnen fixtures were like 100 lbs. Mine is only about 20 lbs, so big improvement!

Top notch quality Australian made tooling with excellent pricing. NGN has been an OEM level tooling supplier for decades in Australia, and we're now doing distribution for U.S. engine machine shops. Custom sizing of pilots and reamers is no problem, and at no additional cost.
We can setup the reamers for a smaller than usual piloted tip for bronze guides that come with a small I.D. that would normally require substantial honing time. Instead, finish with a single pass TiN coated carbide reamer, or if you choose you can still give them a few strokes with your hone to leave a crosshatch pattern for holding additional oil. Reamers can be sharpened for iron or bronze.
