Today was truly a day full of blessings at Timber Hills. We had the joy of recognizing employees celebrating milestone anniversaries of 5, 10, and 20 years of dedicated service. We also shared in a meaningful Blessing of the Hands ceremony for staff. Adding to the celebration, we gathered to wish RA Velma a very happy birthday! Days like today remind us how grateful we are for the wonderful people who make our community so special. We thank God for His many gifts and for the blessings found in service, friendship, and fellowship.

Worship is always a dynamic part of the community life at Timber Hills. On Sunday, May 24, the residents experienced a meaningful celebration during the Sunday worship service, as the great granddaughter of a resident was baptized by Campus Pastor Karl Kruse. It was a joyful reminder of God's grace and the blessing of welcoming a new child into His family.

Today's Lodge Days celebration was a showcase of the talents, passions, and life stories that make our community special. Residents and staff members shared a variety of collections and hobbies, from family history displays, personal stories, crafts and woodworking, handmade Barbie doll clothing, beautiful quilts, rocks, fishing memorabilia, mail truck collectibles, baskets, and even a unique car-themed T-shirt collection. There truly was something for everyone to enjoy! We gathered together for a great lunch prepared by Nutrition and Culinary, enjoyed ice cream with friends, and wrapped up the day with wonderful music from Mark & Lisa Flora. It was a day filled with memories and appreciation for the many interests and experiences our residents bring to our community every day.

Today was a very special day at Timber Hills as our beloved duck, Mildred, welcomed eight new ducklings into the world! This year Mildred chose a planter on our deck as the perfect place to lay and protect her eggs. This morning, all eight eggs hatched, and residents watched as she guided each duckling off the deck one by one. True to her nurturing nature, Mildred patiently waited until every baby was safely with her before leading her little family on their journey to the pond. We look forward to this annual tradition and are always amazed by the instinct, devotion, and care found in God's creatures. Watching Mildred faithfully protect her eggs and lovingly guide her ducklings to safety is a beautiful reminder of the wonders of nature right outside our doors. 🦆💛

Today residents and staff kicked off summer with our first "Sip, Smile and Socialize" of the season. These fun socials are held May through October and are a great opportunity for our residents and staff to get to know each other better, in a fun environment. It's also a wonderful way for residents to get to know each other better and to meet new friends! Fun red, white, and blue layered mocktails along with tasty snacks were enjoyed by all. It was a warm one, but oh what fun we had!

Today we were honored to host a Memorial Day Program together with American Legion Post 98, St. Paul Park, as we gathered to remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives so that we may live in freedom.
We are especially grateful to the St. Paul Park American Legion for conducting a ceremonial flag raising for our new American flag that now flies proudly in front of our building. This special flag has previously flown above our Nation’s State Capitol and was presented with an official certificate commemorating its service.
Thank you to everyone who joined us in taking time to reflect, remember, and honor the sacrifices made for our country.

On Thursday we had a very special visit from a wonderful group of third graders who came to spend time reading with our residents. It was heartwarming to watch the younger and older generations come together through stories, conversations, and smiles. We are not sure who enjoyed the visit more — the residents or the children!
Thank you to these amazing students, their teacher and chaperones for bringing so much happiness to our community. ❤️📚

Friday the residents created a fun and colorful paint brush flower craft! Using paint brushes that were painted in bright spring colors as the stem, they added lovely flowers that matched the stem, and watched them turn into beautiful pieces of art! Each brush was so different, bursting with color and imagination! Another great craft provided by the Life Enrichment Team! 🎨
