Byron H. Byron was elected as mayor in November 2015 with 87% of the vote.

Nolen is currently an attorney, and formerly served as mayor of city of Inkster, a municipality with approximately 25,000 residents. He is instrumental in changing the city’s 52 year old charter which transformed the city from a city manager form of government to a government where the elected officials run the day to day operations of the government in his first year in office. I want to first say thank you to Inkster residents. Your commitment to the community is loud and clear, and I appreciate it. I am honored and humbled to again serve as your mayor, and I am ready to use every resource available to help us improve our city. We have work to do, and I am looking forward to rolling up my sleeves and working together. I want to also thank a team of many volunteers that supported and believed in our mission and vision. Your contributions played a crucial role in getting us here.

As a community we must realize that the fight is not among ourselves. A divided house will fall. We must come together and work towards the common goal of making Inkster a wonderful place to live, work, and play. That is the goal, that is the standard, that is our future. We are Inkster!

This graph shows the financial situation of the city of Inkster over the last eight years. This document was created by the city of Inkster's financial consultants Plante Moran in May of 2023.

As you can see, when I left office in November of 2019, the city had a general fund balance of approximately $2,000,0000 (2 million) dollars. Today, we have a general fund deficit of $3,400,000 (3.4 million) dollars. In 2021, we received $2,400,000 (2.4 million) dollars in federal covid funds (free money), and we are still millions of dollars in debt.

Inkster's City Parks

The Nolen Administration worked tirelessly with Inkster residents and City Council to rejuvenate our parks, and public services when I was Mayor.

If elected again, I plan to continue restoring our parks for the kids with the support of our community.
