The recent flooding across Indiana was a reminder that even thoughtful design has limits. Stormwater management starts long before a forecast calls for rain, from understanding watersheds and preserving natural drainage to protecting floodplains and maintaining existing infrastructure.

What happens after the rain falls matters just as much. Neighbors helped neighbors, volunteers stepped up, and public agencies, contractors, and engineers worked together to assess damage and begin recovery.

Intentional planning cannot prevent every storm, but it can reduce risk and help communities recover when it matters most.

Nothing says summer quite like time on the water, backyard cookouts, fireworks, and making memories with family and friends.

We hope everyone had a relaxing Fourth of July weekend and is ready for an exciting summer ahead!

Exciting to see construction officially underway on the Whitehill Ballroom at the Butler Arts & Events Center. Projects like this are about more than adding square footage. They create places where people gather, celebrate, experience live music, and make lasting memories.

We're proud to be part of the team helping bring this new venue to life and look forward to watching the vision take shape in the months ahead!

Who knew paper airplanes could spark so much competition?

Our team enjoyed great food, great stories, and the chance to test our design skills in a very unofficial aeronautics competition.

Results may vary. Opinions on flight performance certainly did.

What do paper airplanes, family recipes, and a little friendly competition have in common?

Apparently, Veridus Group.

Yesterday, our team came together for a family reunion-style pitch-in, sharing favorite dishes, the stories behind them, and a few impressive paper airplane designs.

From recipes passed down through generations to flights that may or may not have exceeded expectations, it was a great reminder that some of the best moments happen when we step away from work and spend time together.

Good food. Great stories. Questionable aerodynamics.

Just another day at Veridus Group.

As we take time to observe Memorial Day, our offices will be closed on Monday, May 25.

Wishing you a safe weekend with family and friends.

Our offices will be closed on Monday, May 25 in observance of Memorial Day.

As we take time to reflect and honor those who served and sacrificed for our country, we wish everyone a safe Memorial Day weekend.

Our team recently joined the Cleanup Day to help clean up parks, neighborhoods, and public spaces across the community.

Alongside the Lawrence Fire Department and other community partners, the team spent the day clearing debris from storm drains and vegetation areas to help make a visible impact throughout the city.

We enjoyed stepping away from our usual routines, working together in a different way, and giving back alongside others who care deeply about Lawrence.

Thank you to the City of Lawrence for organizing another great event. Looking forward to next year. Who’s joining us?

Did you know civil design decisions made early can impact cost, timeline, and constructability? From site layout to infrastructure planning, early engineering decisions shape how a project performs in the field.

That’s why we focus on:
- Thoughtful site design
- Proactive coordination
- Clear systems that carry through construction

Because when design is done right, ex*****on becomes smoother.

At the center of every project is a community. The people who live there, work there, and experience the impact long after the project is complete. We’re grateful to be part of work that connects people, strengthens communities, and creates places that matter. Because the goal isn’t just to build. It’s to build something that lasts.

At Veridus, the work we do is about more than projects. It’s about people.

The teams we build.
The relationships we develop.
The communities we’re proud to be part of.

Every project brings a new opportunity to collaborate, solve challenges, and create something that lasts beyond the work itself. We’re grateful for the people who make that possible - both within our team and alongside our partners.

Because at the end of the day, great projects are built by great people.

Ex*****on gets harder when direction isn’t clear. On projects without defined guiding principles, teams spend time debating decisions that should already be aligned.

What should we prioritize?
Does this add value?
Does this support the goal of the project?

When those answers aren’t clear, progress slows. Guiding principles solve that. They give teams a way to evaluate decisions in real time and keep work moving forward without unnecessary friction.

Because strong ex*****on isn’t just about building. It’s about designing with clarity so projects can be built with confidence.

This time of year, projects start moving quickly. But so do the challenges that come with them.

Rising fuel costs and changes in transportation regulations are already beginning to impact material delivery and labor availability.

Individually, these shifts are manageable. Together, they can affect timelines, pricing, and overall project flow. The key is addressing them early. With the right planning, coordination, and site strategy, teams can stay ahead of disruptions instead of reacting to them.

That’s where we focus - we help clients navigate these complexities early through thoughtful site engineering, proactive planning, and a clear path from feasibility to construction.
