The Breakthrough T1D Young Adult Advocacy Council (YAAC) is hosting an info session on Thursday, June 18 at 7pm ET for anyone interested in learning about the YAAC program, the application that will launch in September, and how the group works to advances Breakthrough T1D’s mission.

The Young Adult Advocacy Council (YAAC) is a group of young adults ages 18-28 who actively support the advancement of Breakthrough T1D’s advocacy priority areas, spread awareness of type 1 diabetes (T1D) within their communities, and inspire youth to use their voices and share their stories with key decision makers. Our community has been raising their voices on this issue for years, engaging with Congress, employers, health insurance companies, and drug manufacturers.

The INSULIN Act builds upon recent progress by capping out-of-pocket costs, eliminating utilization management barriers, increasing transparency in the insulin market, and promoting generic and biosimilar competition. It also strengthens support for uninsured individuals through state pilot programs and a national insulin resource center.

Congratulation to the Purdue Delta Tau Delta Fraternity for being the top fundraising DTD Chapter of the school year!!! Breakthrough T1D Indiana Chapter is so appreciative of the long-standing support we see from Purdue University- from car washes to bringing everyone's favorite Lafayette thrift store right on campus for a give-back event, these young men take their philanthropy seriously and know how to bring the community together! Breakthrough T1D Indiana Chapter wants to send a warm thank you to Chris Locke and his family for hosting the First Annual Smash T1D Pickleball Open to benefit Breakthrough T1D!
