Only Time Homestead
Just two guys on a small midwestern homestead. Sustainability, ethical animal husbandry, gardening, crafting, and our little life together. ❤️🐓
I don’t think their mommas are sorry to see them go. 😂
Our two Crème D’argent litters are officially on pasture full time. They’ll be on mostly/ all pasture until it’s time to harvest them, though they’ll move into the big tractor after the litter of Rexes over there are harvested.
These guys are such beautiful rabbits, and already much bulkier than the Rex babies were at this age. I’m starting to be converted.
Feeding our family, AND having our lawn mowed at the same time!
Anyone else love having rabbits around?
POV: You’re just a tiny new baby in your brooder box 🐥
Taking a break from morning chores to drink in a quiet moment. Because THIS is what we are working so hard for. The slow, peaceful parts of the crazy whole. 🥰
This is Dandy, and he absolutely lives for a good scratching session. He is a 2 1/2 month old Nigerian Dwarf goat.

Have you EVER seen a more perfect creature??
Only been out in the world for about two days and has already surpassed every other living being in pure adorableness. (Momma was about to bite me while I snapped this pic.)

Baby chicken squad have been upgraded to a new coop in the barn! 😍
Crazy to have little babies hatched from our own girls. We have a new rooster now, so it’s special to see Bubba’s little kiddos. He was a good roo for us.
Once these guys are out with the flock, the baby coop will be for our batch of young guineas we’re raising up. Crossing our fingers for extra tick control this summer. 🤞

Man, I didn't know I could be so obsessed with poultry.
We are so in love with our Muscovies. They're laying like crazy right now and I am loving eating eggs every day. Naturally, we've been discussing expanding our flock... and we finally did it! New birds are in quarantine and getting ready to move in with our little group.

A new job is taking a helluva lot of my time away these days. It’s hard to be off the farm. Oliver has a whole lot of extra work, and I miss the animals every minute I’m away.
On the bright side, the sun is coming out more and more. We have fewer mornings hauling warm water and breaking ice! Best of all, the Muscovies have started to lay!
One of the biggest reasons we got Muscovies to begin with, is because I’m allergic to chicken eggs. Now my fridge is full of big beautiful Muscovy eggs, and I’ve been enjoying big breakfasts of fried eggs on bagels. Thank you, girls! We have a few eggs incubating too, hoping to start hatching our own home-grown ducklings.

Listen, posting consistently on Facebook is not my forté… add the holiday season to that, and I am fully MIA.
Merry Christmas to everyone! We hope your holidays were full of love and family time. 😁 Here’s my Christmas craft: I finally took apart the old goldenrod wreath I made this summer, and made up a new one from the evergreen tree in the front yard.

We are SO thrilled to welcome our new girls! ❤
Proper introductions to come, but both ladies are from our new friends at Swisher Hill Farm - Nigerian Dwarf Goats
We are so beyond excited to welcome kids in the spring… and maybe even give the show ring a try 😁

Pray for Bubba Wooster 🙏 (There’s nothing wrong with him, he’s just really stupid)
I shouldn’t be this obsessed with this idiot rooster, but here I am. I keep saying I want to replace him with a pure Brahma cockerel… but then I look at him being ridiculous and I just 🥹🥹🥹
