Dear Vision Academy Riverside Community,

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Christina Thurman as K–8 Principal for the 2026–2027 school year.

Dr. Thurman brings more than 15 years of experience in urban education, having served as a teacher, assistant principal, and principal across elementary, middle, and K–12 alternative settings in Kansas City and Indianapolis. She holds a Master of Arts in Teaching, a Master’s in Educational Leadership for Urban Principalship, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis.

A results-driven leader, Dr. Thurman is committed to academic excellence, student-centered outcomes, and strong partnerships with staff and families. She looks forward to leading Vision Academy Riverside and ensuring high levels of learning for every student.

Today's the last day of school for students (and as a reminder, it's a half-day with dismissal at noon)! We're so proud of all our students' hard work this year, and we wish everyone a fun summer ahead. ☀️
