We’ll walk you through what how sewing machines work, the importance of picking the correct needle, as well as some basic troubleshooting for new sewing journey. After the basics are covered , We’ll learn to install a zipper and make pencil case.

As I prepare to sift through my belongs and pack up what will continue with me on my journey, I’ve been reflecting on my time in Indy.
It’s been a ride. I feel like I’ve lived several lifetimes, in my 8 years. I’m not friends with most of the people I moved back to be close to, but I’ve got more ride or die’s in those 8 years than I acquired in my almost decade in New Orleans.
I’ve picked up more and more work each year, which I guess is pretty standard for me. However, the work here seems more meaningful, like I’m actually making a difference.
I’m not sure what the move will bring up, but I’m grateful that I’ve grown so much on my journey.

I’m moving & I’m terrified! I moved a lot as a child, some were planned, some were not. Moving was always a super stressful thing growing up. Something was always lost, some stuff just got left behind.
As an adult, I’ve moved cross country 3 times and a handful of times locally. Fun fact when I moved from Jersey, I was offered a job from the moving company I used 😂
Im better at moving these days, but this move wasn’t my choice and I wasn’t prepared. My landlord wants to sell and I’ve been paying below market value for a while, which is why I hadn’t moved yet. The things I’ve priced are double what I’ve been paying. I know I’m not the only one in this boat, but it’s making me sea sick.
This house kept my safe during the pandemic. While old and not upgraded, it has been my safe space since I moved back to Indy. I have also, inherited my mom and brother’s worldly possessions in this house. I’ve started a small business in this house and have collected a small fortune in supplies. And now everything has to be gone through and whittled down, by what should be kept, what can be donated and what is just trash. And that is bringing up a lot of childhood stuff that I thought I was over.
As much as I don’t want to move, I am hopeful for the future. My long term goal is to buy a house, but I need some time to get my affairs in order. So in the meantime I’m looking for a soft place to land for a bit to do that.
I’m hopeful to feel more settled, after this move, than I have in the last 6 months since I was told the landlord was contemplating selling.
If you are also struggling today, I see you. I wish you a graceful journey to the other side. Sometimes baby steps are all we can do! You got this!!!!

Thank you Bloomington. It’s always a pleasure to be in your magical city! Bloomington has always been so hopeful, to me, like anything is possible.
Patches and hair bobbles were the most popular, but I did sell one of my favorite pieces. It had been tried on by a handful of people, but it never quite fit right. This lovely human walked right into it like it was made for them!!!
Thanks so much for stopping by! Thanks for commenting on the lovely space I’ve tried so hard to curate. Thanks to all the new friends I made and all the vendors who were happy to see me back!
I’ll be Irvington Pride next. Carmel Pride is the following day and I’ll be there as well.
