Did you Know...

Logos are not able to have stock art / clip art in them?

Why you ask...the simplest answer is because the licensing agreement states that this is a no-no. By having clip art/stock imagery in a logo...it becomes copyright infringement....which translates to being stuck with a potential financial burden.

Even if this didn't exist...using clipart/stock imagery lessens the uniques of the first line of a company's brand image. More of a reason to not use clip art/stock imagery.

Want to stay "Logo Legal"...DesignTime Studio has you covered.

Last week, we asked the question as to if you should use stock art in a logo. The answer is no. For those who didn’t respond, that’s ok as it’s our job as the professionals to know this.

Using stock art in a logo creates legal and financial risk for licensing and copyright issues.

Also, a logo is similar to a fingerprint...a unique visual representation that helps in making companies stand apart from each other. If an element is used that everyone can access, then there is a high likelihood that 2 or more companies are being identified with the same visual element.

When a new or updated logo is designed by DesignTime Studios, LLC it will be that company’s fingerprint (uniquely yours and free from stock art).
