The organization, founded in 1972, promotes active participation of African Americans in local, state, and national levels of the Democratic process, supporting the rights of the African Americans to play an integral role in governmental and political leadership.

Juneteenth is a celebration of freedom, resilience, and the ongoing pursuit of justice. As we honor the day when the last enslaved African Americans learned of their freedom, we also recognize the responsibility to preserve and advance its legacy. Through education, advocacy, community engagement, and cultural programming, IDAAC Indy works to uplift Black history, empower future generations, and promote equity throughout our community. This Juneteenth, we celebrate progress while recommitting ourselves to the work that still lies ahead.
