Quick little side project I started on this week....I picked up this 3D printed late model kit from A-1 Raceworks and have been having a blast with it so far. Very clean printing, low parts count... a perfect little "get something done quick" type of build.

I am making a few changes, I swapped out the air cleaner and steering wheel to some Ron C**n items. And I ground down the RF tire to get the crazy camber these cars have. Added a few cage bars as well. All the black is Mr. Hobby black primer. Awesome stuff. And I tried out the Fusion chrome from Amazon for the wheels and wheel covers. Stuff looks pretty cool!

Just about got the interior wrapped up on the Lindley LMS.....I didn't want to go crazy and add a bunch of unnecessary stuff in there because these cars were probably pretty sparse back then.

I scratch built/sculpted the drivers floor pad from some magic-sculpt, painted it and weathered it a bit. I used Jaye's roll bar padding, water jug, and steering column. The seat was a modified Monogram kit piece with Gofer hardware. Body is ready for paint, and once I get it shot and cleared, I should be wrapping this one up soon!

If anyone is looking for some old 1/25 Flashpoint resin Pro Mod bodies for models or slot cars. I put up a lot of five different bodies on my e b a y page today!

One of the other projects I have been messing with lately, is a replica of Butch Lindley's #16 late 70's Pontiac bodied LMS car.

I started with a Salvino LeMans kit, then added a resin nose from Luka Cee, it was pushed back, and I shortened the hood as well.

Other body mods were cutting out the roof posts, enlarging and flaring the rear fenders, and raking the roof down slightly. Which then in turn meant the entire top of the roll cage needed rebuilt with .080 rod. I think I may have shortened the doors up as well to get the whole car lower.

New front fender humps were added with some cheap, plastic kitchen spoons. They had the perfect shape!

I'm also using an awesome set of these diamond hole rims from Ron C**n resins.

I am just about ready to get some primer on, and see just how much more body work I have to do, but so far it has been a fun little project!

Came back from the NNL East all fired up to get back to building. Dug out an old friend...my '57 Chevy Pro Mod project. According to Fotki I started this thing almost 7 years ago!

I had been stuck on the doors the last time I had worked on it, so I got started on those first. I replaced the resin chunks I had cut out and formed new brass doors, and got all the pivots and hinges figured out. Once they were close to in place, I started working on the door jambs and gaps. Still lots of fine tuning to do, but they are looking good so far. Swing nice and straight with no sag, and fit the body really well.

I also cut off the molded in rear wing fins, and replaced those with brass sheet. I scribed a new channel for them to fit into.... Much sharper, and crisper than the resin ones.

I need to work on the inner doors and window frames next, but I'm pleased with how the doors are going so far!

Wrapped up the Jaye's Model Garage 3D printed Kyle Busch Texas winning truck kit. (Other than the missing window banner and fuel ring logos I will add later)

A really fun project, that builds up pretty quick! As I mentioned before, I used the JWTBM and it took a couple sets to cut and paste since they weren't sized for this particular body. But overall it all worked out.

These kits are low on the number on parts, but area really detailed and make for a fairly quick project. Looking forward to building a few more!

Reached a good stopping point on the decals on the Kyle Busch truck. I still need to go add all the numbers and Realtree logos and small sponsors, but it is looking pretty cool at the moment!

Full disclosure, these sheets were drawn and produced before Jaye had made his truck kit, so there was quite a bit of slicin' and dicin' to get everything to fit his body. I knew that going into it, so I used a second sheet to be able to cut patches and so on to make it all work. But all in all, I think it all worked out pretty well.

I had cleared and polished over the green, but I am just leaving the camo decals, and the remaining decals over the top, with no more clear. It should have a nice contrast between the gloss and the matte decals.

Back to decaling.....CK

GREEN! Had a major set back using the Tamiya PS green I had originally wanted to use. It went on terrible....I had to wetsand the body all the way down, put new base coat white on, then using tips from Jaye and Jay, picked up some Traxxas Fluo green paint to try.

Much better! I have used the Tamiya PS neon red before with no issues. But me and the PS green did not get along. It went on dry and rough, uneven, and by the time I got enough on, it was way too dark. The Traxxas stuff worked great, right from the can. It is smooth, even, and crazy bright.

Now I can mask off all the black areas, and get back to work.

More progress on the Jaye's 3D printed Kyle Busch truck....the interior roll cage and cockpit is all finished. The roll cage comes as one printed piece, and you can see the other parts in their raw form before I painted anything. This mostly involves spraying a few things, and some brush detail painting.

I used a few goody decals from one of Mike's goody sheets to spruce it up a bit. This sub-assembly can now be glued to the chassis pan. And I am on to painting and decals on the body. Should have color in a few days!

Got a cool little package in the mail last week...this is Jaye's Model Garage's new curbside NASCAR Truck kit. I am building the Chevy version to start, but he also has plans for Fords, Toytotas, and Rams. This will be Kyle Busch's Texas winning Spire #7 Real Tree Silverado, with JWTBM decals.

Everything you see here is 3D printed by Jaye. Everything on the bottom is all printed in place, and was all hand painted with various Gaahleri, Mission Models, and other paints. The brakes are done, as well as the tires and wheels. The printing on these parts is amazing. I know Jaye has spent a bunch of time on the design, printing and fine tuning of them. I can't wait to see this start to come together!
