COACH SPOTLIGHT: PHIL BATES

A great coach combines experience, leadership, and a genuine commitment to developing athletes.

As a Coach of our 2027/28 White Team, Coach Phil Bates brings all three to True Indiana. A lifelong member of the Indiana lacrosse community, Phil has built an impressive coaching resume through his work with youth, club, and high school programs across the state. From his playing career at Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School and Ball State University to his leadership roles with Eastside Lacrosse Club and North Central High School, he has consistently demonstrated a passion for helping athletes grow both on and off the field.

Bates experience as an IHSLA Board Member further reflects his dedication to growing the game and creating opportunities for student-athletes throughout Indiana.

Coach Bates ability to connect with players, develop confidence, and foster a competitive learning environment makes him an outstanding leader for our 2027/28 White Team and a tremendous asset to the True Indiana family.

Our teams showed grit, competed with confidence, and represented True Indiana with pride this weekend. While there’s plenty to celebrate, we know we’re just getting started.

We’ll take the positives, learn from the challenges, and get back to work as we prepare for our next opportunity at the end of the month.

This weekend, our True Indiana Green teams head to Columbus, OH for the Project Midwest Summer Open as they kick off their summer tournament season!

A great coach combines experience, knowledge, and a passion for helping athletes succeed.

As the Head Coach of our 2034/35 Team this summer, Coach Brandon Nemit brings all three to True Indiana. From his playing career at the University of Indianapolis to his success as an offensive coordinator, Coach Nemit is committed to helping players elevate their lacrosse IQ, build confidence, and reach their full potential. His ability to connect with athletes and develop players across all positions makes him a tremendous asset to our program.

As the Head Coach of our 2027/28 Green Team, Coach Fitz brings passion, energy, leadership, and a commitment to helping every athlete reach their potential. We are fortunate to have him investing in the development of our players and representing what it means to be part of the True Indiana family.
