Indianapolis' sports economy isn't just concentrated — it's accelerating.
New research from the Indy Chamber and the IU Indianapolis Sport Innovation Institute found that from 2016–2024:
📈 Sports employment grew 44.3%
📈 Sports-related economic output grew 81.2%
The data reinforces a broader story: Indianapolis has evolved beyond a premier event-hosting city into one of the nation's most concentrated sports business ecosystems.
The Business of Sport white paper explores how decades of investment, institutional density, and cross-sector collaboration have created a powerful engine for growth.
