This past Saturday, SHPE Indiana, led by Omar Aragonez and an incredible team of volunteers, helped inspire the next generation during STEM Exploration Day at The Children’s Museum.
Through hands‑on activities, curiosity‑driven learning, and meaningful conversations, the team reached around 780 children and families—sparking interest in science, technology, engineering, and math in a way that was engaging, inclusive, and fun.

Spring Forward — SHPE Region 6 Spring Forward will consist of hosting workshops focused on the career development, technical, graduate, and SHPEtinas tracks, followed by a mock career fair. Opportunity to engage and build the skills to prepare for the National Convention in Indianapolis, IN.

We’re excited to share that the SHPE 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝗲 𝗵𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗶𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟴–𝟯𝟭, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, at the Indianapolis Convention Center.
This milestone reflects years of intentional work by the SHPE Indiana Professional Chapter and student chapters—beginning with a successful Regional Leadership Development Conference in 2022 and continuing through strong partnerships with Visit Indy, industry leaders, and government agencies.

𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗦𝗛𝗣𝗘 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲, positioning our city as a major hub for STEM talent, leadership development, and workforce recruitment.

Recently, members of the SHPE Indiana Professional Chapter board participated in a SHPE Advocacy Day, meeting with city council members, representatives from the Mayor’s Office, and state leaders to build long-term support for SHPE and ensure a strong foundation for the Convention’s success.

We want to extend a special thank you to State Representatives Justin Moed, Daniel Lopez, Mike Andrade, and Victoria Garcia Wilburn for taking time out of their busy schedules to meet with us on short notice. We are also grateful for the engagement and support of members of the Indianapolis City Council and the Mayor’s Office, including the Director of International and Latino Affairs, for their partnership and commitment to advancing SHPE’s mission in Indiana.
