Featuring a day in the life of JD Pike, an intern in our Transportation Road Group. JD is a civil engineering student, spending his summer at our Orlando design center. He has been working on plans for large roadway projects and improving his skills using OpenRoads Designer. When asked why he chose American Structurepoint, JD said, “I wanted to work with a firm that makes a tangible impact on the local community.” Great job this summer, JD!

This past weekend, American Structurepoint’s Indianapolis staff and their families gathered at The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis for our annual company picnic. The event provided a great opportunity for employees and their families to spend time together outside of the office. Thank you to all who joined us!

Showcasing a day in the life of Kaylyn Carey, an intern in our Transportation Group. Kaylyn is a civil engineering student spending her summer at our Merrillville design center. She has been working on a variety of projects such as overlay and preventative maintenance, road reconstruction, and intersection improvements. When asked why she chose American Structurepoint, Kaylyn said, “Because of the opportunities the company has to offer interns. Having the chance to try new disciplines was something that stood out to me.” Great work this summer Kaylyn!

We are highlighting a day in the life of Evan Johnson, an intern in our Construction Solutions Group. Evan is a construction management student spending his summer with our Jeffersonville design center staff. During his internship, Evan has been working on storm drainage and water pipe installation on the Miami Trail project. He has learned about the infrastructure side of construction and how to read project plans. When asked why he chose American Structurepoint, Evan said, “Because I wanted to gain experience at a firm with a reputation for handling large-scale projects.” We are glad you are on our team this summer, Evan!

The transformation of the I-65 and US 52 interchange in Boone County showcases American Structurepoint’s innovative approach to delivering complex interchange improvements, including one of Indiana’s newest diverging diamond interchanges. In collaboration with INDOT West Central, Lebanon, Indiana, Boone County Indiana, and other project partners, our team leveraged leading-edge geometric design, proven diverging diamond interchange expertise, and detailed construction sequencing to deliver a safer, more intuitive interchange that advances mobility, constructability, and long-term performance.

Showcasing a day in the life of Chloe Broemel, an intern in our Structural Engineering Group. Chloe is a civil engineering student spending her summer with staff at our Indianapolis design center. During her internship, Chloe learned new software programs such as RISA 3D and Enercalc, and gained experience designing retaining walls, doing wind load calculations and marking up rebar shop drawings. When asked why she chose American Structurepoint, Chloe said, “To experience a variety of tasks and projects similar to those I’d work on for the remainder of my career.” We look forward to seeing all you accomplish, Chloe!

The SR 44 and Kepler Road Intersection Improvement Project is open to traffic in Florida, improving safety and efficiency at one of Volusia County’s busiest intersections. A new two‑lane roundabout, two‑way left‑turn lane, and resurfacing along both SR 44 and Kepler Road was included as part of the project. The corridor serves as a welcoming gateway to the City of DeLand, Florida, highlighted by a newly installed monument. Congratulations to the Florida Department of Transportation District 5, the American Structurepoint design team, and other project partners on this successful project! Showcasing a day in the life of Katie Glover, an intern in our Utility Infrastructure Group. Katie is a civil engineering student spending her summer with staff in our Fort Wayne design center. During her internship, Katie is working on master plan projects and helping with on-call work for the Hendricks County Regional Sewer District. When asked why she chose American Structurepoint, Katie said, “Because I want to do engineering work that impacts real people and takes an active role in protecting public health. I really want to help improve the quality of life for underserved communities and be a part of a company that functions as one big family.” We’re excited to have you on the team this summer, Katie!
