Since 1955, a place where theatre friendships and memories are made.

All-volunteer community theater, 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation located at Hedback Theater in the historic Herron-Morton Place neighborhood. Footlite’s mission is to produce musicals and other dramatic offerings and to provide for education and training of persons in the theatre through hands-on experience and classes in the various stages of dramatic and musical theatre.

Our COLLEGE CABARET Young Adults finished their week by learning from three accomplished theater professionals:

Moya Angela, who got her start in THE LION KING on Broadway and has performed in DREAMGIRLS, GHOST, and on AMERICA’S GOT TALENT and 30 ROCK, led a masterclass, sharing insights from her award-winning career on Broadway, the West End, television, and beyond.

LaDonna Burns, whose credits include WHITE GIRL IN DANGER, CAROLINE, OR CHANGE, FOLLIES, RENT, and SEUSSICAL, had an engaging conversation with the performers.

Eddie Curry, actor, director, and producer, who spent 35 years as Artistic Director of Beef & Boards, spent an evening providing his expertise and preparing the performers for their performance!

We were thrilled to welcome Broadway and West End producer Bradley Reynolds yesterday for a special masterclass with our COLLEGE CABARET Young Adults. A Speedway native, Bradley is a Drama Desk, Drama League, and Olivier Award-winning producer and a Tony nominee whose credits include OH, MARY!, THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA, THE NOTEBOOK, SOMETHING ROTTEN!, MRS. DOUBTFIRE, WEST SIDE STORY, RAGTIME, IN THE HEIGHTS, SIX, and many more. He also serves as a Tony voter for THE BROADWAY LEAGUE. Talk about an incredible career!

From the Tony Awards to Footlite in under 24 hours! We are still pinching ourselves that NYC performer Grace Morgan joined us virtually yesterday to coach our COLLEGE CABARET Young Adults. Grace is a former Hoosier who played Christine in THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA national tour and was a studio vocalist for the movie K-POP DEMON HUNTERS! Talk about a powerhouse resume.

Our Young Artists are officially cutting loose, and rehearsals are already full of energy and fun! We’re big on building community this summer, and last week, everyone rocked their favorite musical theater shirts to rehearsal. It was the perfect way to learn more about each other and kick off a great summer of rehearsals.
