Why give $5 to this rescue on Friday?

•The rescue is also a sanctuary that cares for seniors and long-term medical for their entire lives. They also require cremation services when they sadly pass. They require food and vet care for many years, not just days, weeks, or months.

•The rescue is a physical shelter that requires thousands of dollars a month to maintain (ground maintenance of 6 acres, insurance, kennel costs, kennel supplies and employee wages. Foster-based rescues have none of these costs.

Did you know that kennel disinfectant costs $50 a gallon? You thought gas for your car was expensive.

Dog treats for one day is over $100.
Dog food for one day is $160.

Vet care this week: Thelma. Urinary tract infection with a stubborn case of giardia. Cost was $56 for antibiotics and $150 in Panacur. Vet exam and urinalysis and f***l: over $200.

As consumer of social media, we are inundated with information and over-stimulated. We have been trained to absorb information as quickly as possible and go into the next video. It’s the way of the new world.

Please pause and remember, we are not just videos with trending music or pictures that ultimately fails to completely capture the shepherds’ greatness. We are a non-profit competing for donations among thousands of others. We are in it for the long-haul; until the very last senior shepherd passes.

The national well-known animal welfare organizations such as The Humane Society and Best Friends Society CEOs, CFO, VP and Presidents have benefits, days off, personal time off, sick days, and vacations. I highly doubt that any of them would accept $5 per hour and work 80+ hours a week consistently. I will.

These same organizations bring in mega-corporations as donors. This rescue has no major sponsorship. It depends on other German Shepherd Dog lovers who want to be a part of saving their lives.

If you’d like to help the rescue/sanctuary/shelter continue to provide wide-open spaces, fresh country air, and a place to literally save their lives, please consider becoming a subscriber, set up monthly donations via PayPal, or simply donate when you’re able.

We also accept prayers for strength and resilience. Miracles are real. This rescue is a testament.

Ilse. ❤️ Formerly known as Daniel at Downey Animal Care Center, Downey CA. Rescued after running out of time.

Turns out that “Daniel”was incorrectly labeled as “male”. After spending just a few minutes with her, I realized the discrepancy. Since she was found as a stray and would prefer a more appropriate German name, Daniel is now Ilse

She’s is so incredibly gentle and based on her prolonged apprehension upon approach, may have received negative human physical touch in her young life.

She appears to be approximately 50-55 pounds. Her teeth indicate that she is well under two years of age.

She loves other dogs! Ilse will still require her spay surgery however she is battling kennel cough currently. She is taking antibiotics.

Don’t delay meeting her as she is a gem. To think she was facing death, is too hard to imagine.

Dogs that may still require their alter surgery, must go to adoptive homes and remain as short-term foster until my spay/neutersurgery is complete.

In Ilse’s case, she must first mend from kennel cough until it is safe to have her under anesthesia.

History with cats is not known.

She’ll be added to the website very soon.

Raise your hand if you’re sick of AI-generated video and pictures. Imagine having a computer generate images for you and tell you what to say.

These creators post overly-slick fake images and have unsuspecting followers buy into it, then make money off the eye-catching slop.

Please support real rescues who are saving real dogs and posting legitimate content.

I just had a page come up where it’s only AI-generated images. The posts garner over 10k reactions. Do people realize they’re supporting a computer and a lazy human behind it?

Don’t support that crap. Support groups actually doing the work. Humans with emotions, beating hearts, and morals,…regardless how messy it make appear.

This is a real picture and moment with Rome.
