The most laid-back apocalypse story I've read in a while. The wife and husband duo were pretty entertaining, each having strengths that added to their survival. The wife was the talking sniper with an army of cats. Meanwhile, the husband was a war vet with a blunt but effective way of handling things. (i.e., explosions, choking old ladies, and backhanding people in his way) If you like reading about competent people surviving during an apocalypse, this book is for you. On the other hand, though ¯_(ツ)_/¯, you might also get frustrated by the amount of stupid people in this book. Most characters that aren't in the main cast don't come off looking too good.
