Members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® Alpha Mu Omega Chapter were honored to partner with Community Action of Greater Indianapolis (CAGI) and Sharpened Minds, LLC for Caring with Confidence: Practical Resources for Meals, Medicare & Medication, the kickoff event for the newly established Alpha Mu Omega Caregivers Squad (a Sisterly Relations initiative dedicated to supporting caregivers through education, resources, and meaningful connections).

Guests received valuable information on Social Security benefits, Medicare coverage, medication management, balanced nutrition, and community resources to help them confidently care for their loved ones.

Thank you to our sister Nikki Henson for serving as host and to our presenters, Charo Boyd, Public Affairs Specialist for the Social Security Administration; Claudia Chavis, former CEO of Caregivers, Inc.; Stephanie Moss, CAGI Board Member; and Jennifer and George Thomas, owners of In Good Hands LLC, for sharing their knowledge, expertise, and valuable resources.

This event highlighted two of our new International Program initiatives—AKA Family Matters and Health Awareness & Well-Being through education that strengthened families, promoted intergenerational wellness, and empowered caregivers with trusted health resources.

As the Alpha Mu Omega Caregivers Squad begins its journey, we look forward to creating a space where caregivers can learn from one another, share resources, and be reminded that no one has to navigate caregiving alone.
