Tech Talk: RE-USE
Our Mud guard and Engine Shield are from quarry conveyor belts! Super strong.
We use a military grade, surplus HumVee brake part on the BUV.
BUVs use refurbished rims and truck axles. TksB2God, we have not had any axles fail in 37 countries, ever (that we know of).
And bed rails become battery trays.
Re-Use takes less than 10% of the energy that required for recycling.

Harvesting soy beans by hand in west Africa. The plants are dried in the house for a month. Besides hauling the soybean plants to the house, the BUV will haul many 100 kg sacks of beans to the market. The kids think it’s a privilege to work. Each BUV load saves the lady farmer about 20 trips of carrying small loads on her head.

Big thank you to 84 Lumber Company for donating treated plywood for the next 48 BUVs! They are 3/4” thick and become the cargo decks of BUVs.
