The ‘Failure to Appear’ Fallacy Prosecutors denounce bail reform efforts when people miss court dates, but ‘failure to appear’ rates obscure the fact that many who miss court aren’t on the run.
I had a request to do taped statement transcripts from an attorney who used an antiquated cassette recorder. Please stop using these. No one has the equipment any longer to transcribe these. There are affordable digital recorders out there. Please call me and I can recommend some options. In purchasing a digital recorder make sure the recordings can be transferred to your computer. This makes it a simple process to upload for transcription. I'm only a phone call away for advice on how to do this. Making clear recordings is essential in trial preparation.
I cannot stress enough the importance of speaking only one at a time during depositions. I want to get the record perfect, but can't if people are talking over one another.
