Almost 6 years ago we started this journey with the founding of Scratchtruck. Our business plan was to work hard on building the brand for 4 years and then look to expand into a restaurant. We would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. It is very difficult for me to write this message this season.

Almost 6 years ago we started this journey with the founding of Scratchtruck. Our business plan was to work hard on building the brand for 4 years and then look to expand into a restaurant. During this time, we have gone from the 9th food truck in the city, to a Top 101 Food Truck in the USA and a Best of Indy. We have worked hard and sacrificed many things to focus on this goal. We have learned a lot during this time. When we started, we really knew nothing about operating a food truck, but neither did anyone else, as it was a fledgling industry. We learned a lot the hard way. One thing that we learned early is that food trucking in Indianapolis is a seasonal business. It is too difficult to operate year round. The winter is brutal. This made or drive to "protect ourselves" during the winter more intense. Our 2nd year we were able to secure a stand in Bankers Life Fieldhouse to help us until we could get to our goal of a restaurant. We were also able to do a "Pop Up" restaurant last winter to help protect us. After the Pop Up, we focused our intensity on looking for funding to secure a brick and mortar location.

This winter really brought us to our knees, as business really slowed down earlier than in the past. With us seeing that our dream of the brick and mortar has passed, we have made the difficult decision to shutter operations. I still can't believe that I am typing this, as this has been my life for the last 6 years.

It has been a fun, yet difficult journey these past 6 years. I would like to thank my family for supporting me, even though they rarely saw me. Our employees, for helping me along this journey, and having the patience as we were making a lot of this up as we went and finally to our customers. Without you, we would not have made it past the 1st year. Thank you for giving us a try and embracing what we were trying to accomplish.

As I move on to the next chapter of my life, I will always remember the time that was spent the memories that were made on "the big red truck"
