Know the difference between cast iron and ductile iron? While both are heavy as a herd of elephants, OG Cast iron flakes. The ductile iron was made in the 70’s and 80’s and had a different ingredient so it didn’t flake.

Fun fact: The oldest cast iron water pipes date from the 17th century and were installed to distribute water throughout the gardens of the Chateau de Versailles.
