Last week, our middle and high school YLIFe students assembled care packages for our homeless neighbors, including toiletries, basic clothing items, some food, and a note about the love of Christ. Students are living out "love your neighbor" this summer.

Every summer, Shepherd spends 7 weeks — nearly 300 hours — with more than 200 students through our Summer Programs for grades K–12. Every learning activity, conversation, meal, and smile communicates something deeper to the kids we serve: We’re here. You matter to us. And you matter to God.
Your generosity will help Shepherd to continue showing up for children and families all year long.

Our Shepherd Community Academy 5th Grade Graduates began kindergarten during one of the most uncertain seasons in recent history. They started school wearing masks, adapting to constant changes, and learning through challenges no one could have imagined.
Today, they are leaders, problem-solvers, and young people filled with hope.
Half of this year's graduates have been part of the Shepherd family since Pre-K, spending more than seven years growing, learning, and thriving in a community that believes in their potential.
Read their inspiring reflections on hope, growth, and their dreams for the future.

This year, 30 Summer Interns from 10 states and Canada have come to invest their summer in the lives of over 230 neighborhood students. Among them are three young adults whose stories come full circle: they attended Shepherd's summer programs themselves and are now mentoring students just like they were.
Join us for Shepherd LIVE on June 17 at 1:30 pm on Facebook, LinkedIn, & YouTube – to hear firsthand how years of consistent care and meaningful relationships helped shape their lives—and why they chose to return to invest in the next generation.

Before Summer EXCEL & YLIFe 2026 began, 30 young leaders gathered at Shepherd to pray, prepare, and commit themselves to a summer of service.
Representing 10 states, 21 colleges, and a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences, these young leaders came together with a shared commitment to serve, learn, and grow.
This summer, they're helping lead seven weeks of programming for more than 230 K-12 students while growing as leaders, mentors, and people of faith.
Join us in thanking our Summer Interns for investing their time, talents, and hearts in our neighborhood this summer.

At Shepherd, we believe caring for our neighbors means creating spaces where people can find the support they need.
Recently, we were honored to host the Indianapolis Public Schools Family Academy Summer Resource and Wellness Fair, welcoming dozens of community organizations and IPS families as they prepared for the summer months ahead.
From connecting families with resources to supporting students throughout the year, we're grateful for the opportunity to partner with IPS and serve our community in meaningful ways.
