Wellness Wednesday: Human connection and social support are essential for maintaining mental health. Encouraging clients to foster meaningful relationships, build a support network and engage in social activities helps combat feelings of loneliness, isolation, and depression. Connecting with others fosters a sense of belonging, enhances self-esteem and provides emotional support during challenging times.

Boredom has nearly vanished from our lives. At the first pause, we reach for our phones or fill the silence with noise. As Arthur Brooks reminds us, boredom is not the enemy, it’s something we need.
When we allow stillness, it often leading us into deeper questions: What and why do I think about X so often? How am I feeling? Where do I carry life’s unprocessed emotions in the body? Who am I and what am I doing here? 😊
Though uncomfortable, these questions open the door to purpose and joy. Mindfulness invites us to sit with these visitors. In rediscovering boredom, we may rediscover life.

Join us this Sunday, September 21 from 11:30 AM-12:30 PM in Room 356 for a special class featuring Scott Sweet, Executive Director of CenterPoint Counseling, and Rev. Mike Samson, Associate Pastor for Adult Faith Formation at Second Presbyterian Church.
This class explores the sacred intersection of counseling and Christian formation, where healing is offered for the wounds that divide us from God, ourselves and others. We’ll trace how unaddressed shame distorts our self-image and fractures our connections. Join us as we consider mental health as soul work and see the connections between recovery and resurrection.
