Not only is rerouting internationals flights away from blue cities infeasible, it would be a disaster for Indy and its lack of capacity.

Senator Banks thinks otherwise.

Pope calls for robust regulation of AI in manifesto that ponders the future of humanity 05/25/2026

It’s time for me to turn the page to a next chapter, and I know I’m not the only one feeling how exhausting progressive work in a red state can become. The constant conflict and polarization can make us question whether the work matters at all—or leave us feeling like the villain in other people’s stories for questioning the status quo. I’ve especially felt that tension while doing systems-level work that challenges assumptions inside institutions and movements I still deeply care about, and I see many dealing with it internally as upcoming convention primaries are brutally debated.

While I’m not Catholic, I genuinely admire Pope Leo XIV. As progressives, many of us have probably been mocked at some point as “social justice warriors,” but reading his work, it’s hard to see that as an insult when he explains social justice as a pursuit of human dignity, fairness, and refusing to treat vulnerable people as disposable.

Pope Leo argues that social justice is not just about individual morality, but about whether our political, economic, and technological systems actually allow people—especially the poor, migrants, marginalized, and excluded—to live dignified lives. He warns that AI, technology, and economic power cannot be driven solely by profit, but must remain accountable to the common good and the worth of every human being.

One passage that stayed with me was his use of a J.R.R. Tolkien quote: that our responsibility is not to “master all the tides of the world,” but to uproot the evil in the fields we know so future generations inherit cleaner ground to stand on. Real change is rarely one dramatic victory or title—or even a political win. But more often, it’s built through steady acts of courage, truth-telling, justice, and solidarity that leave the world a little more human than we found it.

And maybe that’s enough—maybe that is the work.

Who is Max Engling? Off the bat, he’s a guy pushing closed primaries and spinning Democratic takeovers of his conservative Indiana.

Shocker.

*Correction: the previous version stated Etling. Anyway guy goes by Max.

New Chicago police chief's Merrillville residence searched amid county takeover, sources say 05/23/2026

“Those sources say more than 100 guns were seized in the search and that Mayo has been taken into custody in Ohio and is expected to be extradited in the coming days on local criminal charges that have not yet been filed…

Mayo is the son of Indiana State Police Major Jerry Williams, who recently won the Lake County Democratic primary and will be his party's nominee for sheriff in the November general election.

Williams acknowledged the investigation of Mayo in a statement issued to The Times Saturday morning.”

I by no means support Max Engling, but this is such a disingenuous take that its traction would only be to his benefit.

Engling is from Indiana. He went to IUPUI. Then he left and came back home to work for an Indiana Senator.

There is no carpetbagger argument here.

Bottom line: with the likely exodus of Morales, this race will change. Adapt. At the least, be genuine.

Indiana Republicans recruit a Chicagoan to run for Indiana Secretary of State? They couldn't find a Hoosier to do it?

BLUF: There was no grand conspiracy. The DNC Chair commissioned a volunteer report from his consultant friend that was so woefully deficient it was an embarrassment to even release.

People reading confirm, it sucks.
