Ribbon cut, game on! 🎉🏀

Yesterday we had the opportunity to celebrate the ribbon cutting for the new basketball courts at Pooler Recreation Park in Pooler, Georgia.

This project transformed the existing court into two new enclosed basketball courts, creating a modern, safe, and upgraded recreational space for residents, families, and athletes. As the Engineer of Record, JQOL was proud to provide civil engineering and project management services in support of the City of Pooler throughout the process. It's always rewarding to see a project move from concept and design to construction and ultimately become a community asset that will be enjoyed for years to come.

Congratulations to the City of Pooler, Kerby Enterprises, and everyone involved in bringing this community enhancement to life. This project reflects a shared commitment to creating spaces that promote recreation, connection, and quality of life.

Construction is officially underway on Marian University’s Klipsch Educators College and Center for Human Flourishing 🚧🏗️, a major investment in the future of education and healthcare in Indiana. This $72 million, 95,000-square-foot facility will expand the Evans Center for Health Sciences into a five-story hub for interdisciplinary learning and collaboration. 💡

Designed to support evolving workforce needs, the space emphasizes quality of life through thoughtful planning, flexible learning environments, and abundant natural light ☀. Featuring modern classrooms, labs, and a striking rotunda entrance, the facility will prepare future educators and healthcare professionals while strengthening partnerships across the state. Opening in fall 2028, it represents one of Marian’s largest investments to date.

Our Transportation Lunch & Learn gave our team a deeper appreciation for the depth of transportation engineering and the level of thought required behind every design decision. Nathan Frey, PE, PMP (Director of Design – KY) shared an informative overview of the transportation discipline, including the types of projects, processes, and design considerations that shape the work. 🚧

He also unpacked culvert and small structure projects and why they are anything but a “piece of cake,” highlighting the details that can make or break performance in the field. 🍰 We are proud to have Nathan bringing strong experience and a fresh perspective to JQOL, and we appreciate him investing in our collective growth through our 2026 Internal Lunch & Learn series. 👏
