Curt Andersen is in court for the first time since being charged with allegedly shooting and killing Maria Florinda Rios Perez de Velasquez after she and her husband showed up to clean the wrong house. The judge will set his bond today. Also in the video is his lawyer and what appears to be his wife. Previous story below.

During the rally for peace, demonstrators chanted in English and Spanish, each one calling for justice for Maria.
JUSTICE FOR MARIA: Today community members, family members and Latino advocates gather at the Boone County Prosecutors office urging him to file charges against the person responsible for Maria Perez's death.
Investigators say Perez was shot last Wednesday after she and her husband drove to the wrong house in a Whitestown subdivision while working with a cleaning service. The homeowner shot Perez through the door, killing her.
The prosecutor met with the family today explaining the process and why he has yet to file charges. Indiana's "Stand Your Ground Law" is making the process more complicated.

This is 32 year old Maria Florinda Rios Perez. The mother of 4 was shot and killed in Whitestown on Wednesday when she showed up to clean a home but was given the wrong address, relatives said.
The homeowner shot through the door at Maria. An autopsy by the Boone County Coroner’s Office determined the manner of death was homicide and that the cause was a gunshot wound to the head.
The Boone County Prosecutor’s Office said the coroner’s ruling does not determine whether the homeowner will be criminally charged. Whitestown police has completed its investigation. All evidence is now in the hands of a prosecutor who will make a decision on whether or not to file charges against the homeowner sometime next week. Indiana has a “Stand Your Ground” which Boone County Prosectuor, Kent Eastwood, tells me makes the situation complicated. Updates will come next week.

Hey Indianapolis friends. One of my long time friends followed his American dream and opened his own business. For a few years now he and his husband have been selling hot dogs outside of Gregs Our Place one of the only LGBTQ establishments still around in Indianapolis. Last weekend his husband was threatened with violence for simply speaking Spanish to a customer. Come out this weekend and show your support. Grateful Dogs has delicious menu items with fun themes and even more fun people. It makes me sad that we have people threatening violence for someone simply speaking another language. If you are in the area this weekend stop by and buy a hotdog! They could use all the support they can get right now.
VP JD VANCE IN INDIANA: This is the second time the VP has visited the Hoosier state to discuss redistricting. The entire visit has been very secretive. The White House wouldn’t confirm if he was coming but the motorcade can be seen pulling in to the Indiana state library in this video. Press was not allowed in the building. Some protester can be heard screaming “Cheater” and “Go Home”. No word if the governor or statehouse leadership will address the visit today. Stay tuned for more. WRTV
