We just so happened to be in southern Indiana between two cyclones of moving air in the middle of a severe thunderstorm last night where tornados had touched down about an hourish away. Still gonna get out and look at all the frogs and toads tho 😉🐸🍄

I had a conversation with someone about Mites at the last Lafayette Reptile expo. That conversation has sat with me for weeks to the point it gave me an itch of sorts. so like any rational person, I decided to do a deep dive and share my findings with all of you.
The video should be out before the 20th, it's roughly 12 minutes long, and has a *LOT* of info in that 12 minutes that will hopefully help clarify the reality of mites and which ones to know for the sake of your bioactive enclosures!

Y’all it’s been one of those weeks.
Here’s some updates.
The control arm in my car decided it was done being in control and snapped. I’m so grateful it didn’t happen on the way to a show, or on the highway.
For those who don’t know, I was very lucky to walk out of a severe car accident alive back in 2021, so car stress is a real one for me. Traveling to these shows is truly a labor of love for me.
If you ever see me wearing a knee brace at a show, that’s why!
Other than that, I am currently getting some temperate springtails cultured up which I have never offered. I’ve also been getting my isopod collection expanded and cultured up. Fingers crossed for ducky’s soon!

Seriously, I turn lights off when I leave for the night, and every morning when I return. Nothing is automated, yet everything is consistent. I’m just glad I finally have some new tools like my 800gph Imagitarium pump, so my body can actually rest instead of haul 40lbs of bucket after bucket of water, regardless, I’m committed.
