Skilled welders are needed in many industries, and employment in the welding field is expected to continue to grow. In ICTC's fully adult Welding Technology program, students learn MIG, TIG, and Stick welding in a curriculum that follows the American Welding Society's SENSE guidelines. First Commonwealth Bank’s Megan Detwiler, Community Engagement Manager, and Erin Dougherty, Branch Manager/Business Banker, presented the inaugural donation of $1,000 for the newly established Indiana County Technology Center Educational Foundation fund. The fund is being set up through the Community Foundation for the Alleghenies, and First Commonwealth provided the initial donation to launch the foundation. Our Electrical Occupations students had an incredible opportunity to visit REA Energy for a hands-on learning experience! ⚡🔧

Students explored the many career opportunities within the electrical industry, learned about electrical distribution and safety, and gained valuable insight into the skills needed to power our communities. Experiences like these help connect classroom learning to real-world careers and inspire the next generation of skilled professionals.

Today, two outstanding ICTC seniors were recognized during the 8th Annual ICTC Heidi Allison Character Award presentation at the Heidi & Tom Allison Memorial Golf Outing.

Congratulations to this year’s recipients, Eliana Long and Abbigaile Jarvis for exemplifying the compassion, integrity, perseverance, and character that defined Heidi Allison’s legacy.

We were also proud to have military representation join us for the day. It was a great opportunity for students to relax, connect, and enjoy time together as the school year winds down.
