It's been a long time since we've posted, but our ministry has been going strong! Thanks to Noah Fredrick and many other wonderful volunteers we were able to host part one of the 2022 Christmas meal. This meal was made financially possible by one of our monthly sponsors! β€ We thank you all for your support and consistent prayers for the children, their guardians, and our dedicated staff. From our family to yours, Merry Christmas! π

Sometimes I think we make Christianity harder than it needs to be, but our theme verse here at Orphan Hope has a simple message: to love and care for those of us in desperate need.
Every child's situation is different, every single momma's story is unique, but all are loved by their Creator and it is our duty as followers of Christ to care for them in their hurt. Our director in Uganda, Noah Fredrick, his family and church family, our sponsors and donors, and my fellow directors here in the US all live out this verse so beautifully! I am grateful to know each of you and can't wait to see what the Lord does through you in 2022. Thank you for supporting what we do at Orphan Hope!! π

Hard year is an understatement, but with one more under our belts we have some exciting news to share! Two new girls have been sponsored by our newest member of the Orphan Hope team! Sisters Kwagala Flavia and Kisakye Leya will now receive monthly support so that they may attend school and have food to eat.

Every child's education needs are different! As we keep on pursuing nonprofit status, we want our our organization to be one that nurtures children as unique individuals, and that is why Fatih will be heading off to boarding school temporarily, to help her catch up with her fellow students. Education is so important in our mission!

With the world knee deep in COVID 19, we wanted to share how the pandemic has influenced our ministry in Uganda. πΊπ¬ If that is something that interests you, we have an update here to read from our Director of Operations in Uganda, Noah Fredrick!
"The ministry of the children has been affected in the way that the virus came with the restrictions, which hindered guardians from accessing their jobs. Some of these jobs died out completely so they are no longer existing, and so this makes life to be even harder on them and that makes them hope in me as the leader for provision!
Some months back, God provided for them through me and by different friends who raised funds to buy them food, but now it's only the sponsored ones [who have regular provision] since these other ways of provision ended.
The virus also came when we were planning to begin a Saturday Bible class for the orphans which has not succeeded up to date, since children have not been yet permitted to join church fellowships. Some children are now reporting back to school but the guardians have no funds so the call is back to me to provide.
The small family business we have been running has been affected as well, as the more people experience lack of funds, the more businesses lack clients. [This greatly limits what the Fredricks' can do for themselves and for others].
So generally life is hard as a result of the virus! As you know it has affected the entire world and that makes it hard even for people who could support me or my family and ministry! The more people are affected, the more I am affected because I am their leader, and people expect their leader always to have solutions to the problems."
Though it may seem hopeless, there are so many things we can do to help! Monthly sponsorship of a child guarantees that they will have what they need through whatever challenges life throws their way, and we have many children still waiting for a sponsor. Not only that, one-time gifts go a long way too!

Long over-due but here we go!! We were able to serve all of our kids in the program our annual Christmas meal in a Covid safe way. Instead of preparing and serving the food all at once, the food was delivered to each child individually. Shout out to our Uganda Director Noah Fredrick for making the deliveries possible!! Our sponsored kids also usually receive extra gifts from their sponsors for Christmas, food and clothes especially, so you may see some new outfits in these pictures! Praise God for food and smiles!! ππΊπ¬
There's a lot going on. We are praying for political and social peace, and safety for our children and staff in Uganda.

ATTENTION: Now is the time to send gifts for Christmas! The transfer for the next month will be sent out very soon, so be sure to think about what you would like to give! A $15-30 range is perfect for sponsored children, but any general amount will help benefit our annual Christmas meal for all 54 children in our program. Beef, rice, and other yummy Ugandan dishes are usually on the menu. Stay tuned!! ππΊπ¬

Sponsor Spotlight! What kind of people decide to make a monthly contribution to support a child in another country? Every day people like you and me! Today we want to shine the spotlight on a dear family who has supported a little girl named Peifa Nasiminyu since the very beginning of our little organization:
"Our family used support a child in a different sponsorship program, but she aged out of the program. We were surprised to hear that there were many orphans in Uganda who had no access to a program to help them with daily needs and food. Eagerly, we signed up and were assigned a little girl, Peifa, who lives with her grandma. It's hard to fathom that only $31 a month can make Peifa and her grandmother's life that much easier. It has been fun to surprise them with other things, too, like roofing material after their thatched roof was leaking badly. It truly is a blessing to give especially when we've received so much here in America and also as we've received so much spiritually. We can't wait to meet Peifa in heaven if we don't get a chance to here on earth."

Despite the challenges 2020 has brought, the generosity and giving of our friends around the world continues to grow. We've posted several profiles of unsponsored kids recently and the response has been incredible! Three new girls and one new boy have all been financially adopted by sponsors from the USA! πππWe'll be continuing our Sponsor Spotlight post series so stay tuned for that, and keep praying for our ministry as things keep moving back towards "normal."
