It was so much fun touring the apartments of those who entered RK Rentals 2021 Apartment Contest! Apartments who signed up received $25! Well worth the effort to give us the opportunity to take some photos of their apartments! 1st Place went to Jordan S. and Kara B.! Second place went to Austin T. and Madison W.! Yay Katelyn Polenik ! 😁

The for this week is Katelyn Polenik! From January to August this year, Katelyn worked at Bechtel Plant Machinery, Inc. in Monroeville, Pennsylvania, as a procurement co-op. During her internship, Katelyn teamed with engineer personnel to perform program management and gained experience with contract administration for naval nuclear propulsion plant components and servicing equipment to support the United States Navy and its aircraft carriers and submarines.

Katelyn learned a small portion of the role of the contract professional, as well as having the opportunity to develop existing skills even further. She also gained experience in program management, contract administration, management of supplier relationships, issuing requests for proposals, analyzing of supplier proposals, leadership, oral/written communication, negotiation of pricing, the preparation of formal written business case justifications recommending contract placement, and ownership of the contract.

“It's important to be open-minded when partaking in an internship experience. It is a great opportunity to tailor skills that will set you up for success. Ask for constructive criticism from your manager, always seek ways to do better, absorb as much information/opportunity/exposure as you can, and most importantly, make the networking connections with those around you because you will likely meet some of the greatest and smartest individuals.”
