To better serve our customers and keep turnaround times as quick as possible, Goose Creek Rods is implementing a few service policy updates.
Effective immediately:
✓ Service labor charges are due when equipment is checked in for service.
✓ Any replacement parts required for a repair must be paid for before parts are ordered.
✓ Customers will always be contacted for approval before any additional repairs are performed beyond the standard service.
✓ Completed equipment should be picked up within 30 days of notification.
These changes allow us to maintain an efficient workflow, reduce delays, and continue providing the level of service and attention to detail our customers have come to expect.
Thank you for your trust in Goose Creek Rods. We appreciate the opportunity to keep your rods and reels performing at their very best.

Meta is flagging this page because of automated enforcement of its newer “recommendations” rules, not because there is anything obviously wrong with a small business that repairs rods and reels. A wave of similar “Page is no longer recommended” notices has been hitting perfectly normal outdoor‑, hunting‑, fishing‑, and other regulated‑product‑adjacent pages since late 2025/early 2026.
Meta’s recommendation guidelines are intentionally vague and applied largely by machine‑learning systems, so the notice usually just says “Your Page is not following our rules” without naming the specific post.
Other page owners with clean, small business pages report getting the same generic message and being told by support that this is an automated “system decision” that can’t always be manually explained. It is much more likely a blunt, AI‑driven over‑enforcement where certain outdoor or regulated‑looking imagery gets swept up in a broad safety and compliance net.
What You Can Do:
Please recommend Goose Creek Rods to all of your friends. Forward my posts. Post my link in groups, fishing pages, everywhere you interact with anglers.
Thank you so much for your help in this! It is truly appreciated!

True Story:
A sweet lady dropped off a reel sometime back. If I remember correctly, I had a few customers already in the shop, so it was busy. As she dropped it off and was walking out, I asked, "What name should I put this in?" At the time I "thought" I heard "Toot". That was not what she said.
I have a customer named "Toot". So I wrote it up with his info. Yesterday it was ready, so I contacted Toot and told him his red Ambassadeur reel was ready. He called. He said, I don't own, nor have I ever had a red Ambassadeur." I assured him that his wife dropped it off and his name is on it. Then I asked him his wife's name. That wasn't the lady that dropped it off. Then it dawned on me.
The lady said "Coot", not Toot. (You can't make this up). I also have a customer named Coot. So I contacted the lady and then Coot and told them the reel was ready.
So now I have as customers, a "Toot", "Coot" and "Cooter".
If I get a new customer and his name is "Hoot", I'm quitting.

At Goose Creek Rods, every repair, restoration, and custom build is handled one at a time with care, craftsmanship, and attention to detail.
As many of you know, I’m retired, and Goose Creek Rods is not a large commercial shop — it’s a craftsman’s workshop built around quality work and personal service. Because of that, I need to keep projects moving steadily through the shop.
Going forward, once your rod or reel repair, restoration, or custom project is completed and you are notified, payment will be expected at that time.
• If you plan to pick up within a couple of days, cash payment at pickup is perfectly fine.
• If pickup will be delayed a week or longer, payment will be due upon completion notification.
For convenience, I accept:
✔ Cash at prompt pickup
✔ Zelle (preferred)
✔ Credit & Debit Cards (processing fees apply)
✔ PayPal (processing fees apply)
Unfortunately, completed projects that sit for weeks or months ties up shop time, materials, and labor.
I deeply appreciate every customer who trusts Goose Creek Rods with their equipment. Your support truly means a great deal, and this policy helps me continue providing the level of craftsmanship and service you expect.
